Arun is a carnatic flutist from Bangalore . Arun is an engineer by education and a flutist by passion. Arun has learnt flute for 30 years, under the guidance of veteran flutist, Vidwan B. Shankar Rao, a direct disciple of Flute Maestro Mahalingam.
Arun has attended carnatic vocal music workshops conducted by doyens of Carnatic music like Sangeeta kalanidhi Sri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy, Prince Rama Varma and Chitraveena N Ravikiran.
Arun's deeper interests and knowledge of music and musicology made him to explore some of the finer details of music and its effects on physical aspects of matter and life . He also presented his findings on 'Holistic Aspects of Music Therapy’ in an international seminar, ‘Sambrahma’, conducted at Kannada Bhavan in August 2007, which was well received, appreciated and mentioned in The Hindu newspaper. Arun has unique ability of presenting the complete range of lower octave notes on a single flute like flute maestro Mahalingam.
Arun uses the technology to reach out to multitude of his students in India and abroad . Online Carnatic Vocal and Flute are offered using skype. Music classes are also being conducted at academy premises in J P Nagar.
